The Essential truth.
This is what we believe.
This is who we are at the core as a
Church Family.
Our Statement of Faith.
These things don’t change at
Grace Church.
We Believe...
God Is The Creator
We believe in God the Father Almighty, Creator of all things visible and invisible.
(Genesis 1:1; Acts 17:24-28; Hebrews 11:3)
The Fall of Man
We believe that Adam and Eve, the precursors of the entire human race, were created in the image of God; however, they disobeyed God and became sinners. Through Adam, all people inherited sin's nature and consequences, and all are in need of a Redeemer.
(Genesis 1:27; Romans 5:12, 19)
God's Son, Our Savior
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s one and only Son, my one and only Savior, who was born Jesus of Nazareth, both fully human and fully divine, conceived of the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,Who suffered and was crucified under Pontius Pilate, Who died and was buried, and Who rose again bodily from the dead on the third day, who ascended into Heaven and now sits at the right hand of the Father, who will return to earth to judge both the living and the dead.
(John 1:14; 1 John 4:9; John 3:16; 2 Peter 3:18; Matthew 21:11; John 19:19; John 1:14; Romans 5:15-17; Colossians 2:9; 1 John 1:1; Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:26-38; Luke 23:1-46; Luke 23:44 – 24:8; John 20:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:3-8; Luke 22:69; Acts 1:1-9; Colossians 3:1; Matthew 24:36-42; John 14:1-3; Acts 1:10-11; 10:39-42; 1 Peter 4:5)
The Plan of Redemption
We believe that Christ died for all of us while we were still sinners; He took the punishment for our sin. With His own blood, He purchased salvation and redemption for all who believe in Him.
(John 3:16; Isaiah 53:5; Titus 2:14)
The Holy Trinity
We believe in one God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
(Matthew 5:16,45; 6:1,4,8,9; James 1:17/John 1:1; 14:9 / Genesis 1:2; John 4:24; 14:16-20; 2 Peter 1:21)
The Holy Trinity
We believe in the Holy Spirit Who is an active and operative part of the triune God who indwells every Christian.
(John 16:5-15; Acts 1:7-8; Romans 8:26-27; 1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19; 2 Timothy 1:14)
The Holy Scriptures
We believe in the Bible, the Scripture, as God’s Holy Word (Scripture). We believe God inspired the writing of the Holy Scriptures "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" and those autographs were consequently without error. We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
(Mark 12:36; John 14:26; 16:12-15; Acts 1:16; 1 Corinthians 2:12-13; 2 Timothy 3:14-16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18; 24:35; Romans 15:4; Hebrews 4:12)
Man is Lost Without Jesus Christ
We believe the Bible teaches that man, created by God, willfully sinned against God and is consequently lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.
(Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23)
Salvation Through Grace
We believe the Bible teaches that salvation is the forgiveness of sins, is only by given grace through the blood of Jesus Christ, and that the Bible teaches that one receives God’s grace by putting faith in Christ, repenting of sin, confessing Christ and accepting Christ as their personal Lord and Savior and being immersed into Christ. We believe that salvation is totally an act of God's grace that is accessed through faith in Jesus Christ. No person can be good enough to earn salvation, and "being good" does not contribute to receiving God's love and favor.
(Matthew 26:28; Romans 5:9; Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:7; Romans 5:1-2 / Luke 24:45-47; Acts 3:19; 17:30; 2 Peter 3:9 / Matthew 10:32; Romans 10:9; Philippians 2:11; 1 John 4:15 / Acts 2:38, Romans 6:1-7; Galatians 3:27; Colossians 2:12; 1 Peter 3:21; Ephesians 2:8, 13)
Repentance and Acceptance
We believe that, when people repent for their sins and accept Christ, they are justified through Jesus's sacrificial death on the cross. To repent means to be sorry for sins, but it also means to turn away from a sinful lifestyle. Accepting Christ means believing in Him as the only Savior. To be justified means being declared "not guilty" in regard to sin.
(Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9)
The New Birth
We believe that the change that takes place in people when they are born again is very real. They receive righteousness through Jesus Christ, and they are empowered by the Holy Spirit; therefore, they should have new desires, interests and pursuits.
(John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17)
Faith Without Works
We believe that both Faith and Works go together in Christian Unity in the walk with Christ. Show others your Faith by leading by example, and show them that your Work for Christ is part of your Faith. You are Jesus's example and a Child of god.
(James 2:14-26)
The Beginnings of The Church
We believe in the Church of Jesus Christ, founded on the Day of Pentecost and consisting of all Christians everywhere.
(Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 2:14-47)
Church Leadership
We believe the Bible teaches that the Elders are to exercise authority over the local congregation.
(Acts 20:28; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4)
Membership
We believe that Jesus Christ is compassionate, humble, serves others with humility and unconditional love, and is accepting of others. We do not believe in tolerance, only acceptance of others. We are commanded by Jesus Christ to be humble and to accept others with humility and unconditional compassion and love, and further, to accept and work with others regardless of a person's personal background, religious beliefs, afiliations, personal views and orientation. Therefore, we accept as members of Christ's Body and of our Church, all those who believe that Jesus Christ is their personal Lord and Savior, the Holy Scriptures is the only true Word of God, who love others unconditionally, who believe on God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son of God, and the Holy Spirit, and who serve the less-fortunate unconditionally with love, compassion and humility by volunteering in our Christian Ministry and Outreach work.
